Stratos Legal, a leading nationwide legal services company, announced today that it has launched a work-study program for students from Cristo Rey Jesuit College Preparatory High School in Houston.
In exchange for working a 40-hour week at Stratos’s corporate headquarters in Houston, Stratos helps pay the cost of each student’s tuition. Currently, there are four students in the work-study program. Stratos provides deposition and records retrieval services to law firms and corporate legal departments.
“Cristo Rey is an amazing story,” said Christin Kirby, founder and owner of Stratos Legal. “To be associated with this school and helping these bright young people to earn their degrees is an honor for me and our employees. Plus, it’s just great having these kids here every day.”
In 2009, shortly after the closing of long-time Catholic school Mount Carmel, Cristo Rey Jesuit College Preparatory High School was formed. Its mission is to combine personal responsibility, academic rigor, and a corporate work-study environment to empower students of all faiths to reach their full potential. Students come from low-income families in the Greater Houston area.
